The new Apple TV is now open for pre-order, starting at $149. We did an in-depth hands-on over the weekend, concluding that the system finally has a shot at truly becoming the “hub of the connected home.”
Tim Cook revealed last week that pre-orders for the Apple TV will begin today, with the devices expected to ship by the end of the week. Apple also opened up tvOS app submissions last week in preparation for the next-gen TV experience hitting consumers’ living rooms.
Apple has now confirmed that shipping for the new Apple TV will start from October 30, and next-day delivery will cost $17, or $19 with a before-noon stipulation. If you’re in no immediate hurry, you can choose free delivery and receive the unit from November 2-4.
